When arriving in the Guaynabo area near Fort Buchanan, the nearest major airport is the Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport. The airport is located about 11 km from the center of Guaynabo. Another nearby airport is Luis Munoz Marin International Airport which services many domestic flights in and out of the area. Taxi services are available from the airport to Fort Buchanan. Contact the Military Personnel Office at Fort Buchanan at 787-707-3938 during duty hours or after hours the Military Policy desk sergeant at 787-707-3337. If arriving by car, take the exit for Highway 26 and follow the signs to San Juan. Then follow signs to Bayamon until you see the sign for Highway 22. Continue for 1 mile, and the sign for Fort Buchanan will be on the right. Temporary lodging is available at the El Caney guest house which has 75 rooms available.
